Summary Description and Key Results

Motorcorp Distributors Limited (Motorcorp) are the exclusive importer of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Working in partnership with Salesforce, Together implemented a local customer data platform (CDP) solution for Motorcorp, built on Salesforce’s Data Cloud platform, that unifies customer and vehicle data from multiple global and local systems and makes it actionable for customer insights and marketing activation.

The Challenge

Motorcorp’s strategy involves putting the customer at the centre of their business, however the lack of a unified customer view, and the insights and understanding this provides were proving a major challenge. The data they needed was spread across multiple global and local systems and not readily accessible. They issued a competitive RFP for a Customer Data Platform (CDP) solution that would achieve their goal of unifying their customer data, and also work as seamlessly as possible with their existing martech stack.

The Solution

Together partnered with Salesforce to win the RFP and deliver a solution centred on Data Cloud, Salesforce’s market leading data platform. As lead implementation partner, Together were responsible for everything from solution design to end user training.  We worked closely with Motorcorp to determine the priority marketing use cases and ensure alignment to create focus for the implementation scope. We also collaborated with Salesforce Professional Services to ensure the design of a robust solution architecture and quality assurance framework.

To deliver successfully the project team had to solve for non-trivial challenges associated with integrating global and local platforms, allowing us to ingest, map and transform data from seven distinct source systems to provide Motorcorp with a unified and easily accessible view of their Customer and associated Vehicle data.

The Result

Motorcorp have a local Data Cloud solution that puts insight about their customers at their finger tips. The solution provides the means to segment their customer base, generate insight and reporting,  run ad hoc queries to answer business questions, and activate audiences across paid and owned channels. Their improved understanding of the customer is also being used to support strategic decision making. As a result Motorcorp have established a backlog of new Data Cloud use cases that will enable them to extract even more value from their investment in customer centricity.
